Sellebrity FC, Bandra held their nerves to cruise to a narrow 2-1 win against Naval Boys in a Division-II match of the
Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) league, played at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday evening.
The Bandra outfit dominating the proceedings, took the lead through their livewire striker Karan Kapoor in the 15th minute before Roy D’Mello doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, Naval Boys pulled one back when Praniket Rasam found the net in the 62nd minute.
Earlier, in a Division-III Play-off encounter, Chheda Nagar SC blanked Silicon FC 4-0. Sudhir Hola was the hero with two strikes, while Suraj Hola and Shankar M netted one each to complete the rout.
Results – Div-II: Sellebrity FC 2 (Karan Kapoor, Roy D’Mello) beat Naval Boys 1 (Praniket Rasam).
Div-III PO: Chheda Nagar SC 4 (Sudhir Hola 2, Suraj Hola, Shankar M) beat Silicon FC 0.
