Maharashtra delivers spectacular 6-0 win over Himachal Pradesh in Senior Women’s NFC

In a dazzling display of skill and teamwork, Maharashtra’s women footballers showcased their prowess, securing a resounding 6-0 triumph against Himachal Pradesh in the ongoing Senior Women’s National Football Championship. The match, held at SAI Ground in Himachal Pradesh, witnessed some remarkable performances from Maharashtra’s players.

The game kicked off with both teams engaged in a lively exchange, creating chances and testing each other’s defenses. Around the 10th minute, Samrudhi Katkole had a close call, but her shot narrowly went over the bar after the ball fell for her off a deflection from the keeper.

Himachal Pradesh, eager to make an impact, earned a free-kick just outside the box. Anju’s effort was on target, but Maharashtra goalkeeper Payal made a crucial save to deny the opponents.

The turning point arrived in the 34th minute when Aishwarya Jagtap displayed brilliance with a solo run, evading two defenders, and confidently placing the ball past the onrushing keeper to open the scoring.

The second half saw Maharashtra intensifying their dominance. In the 46th minute, Aishwarya Jagtap capitalized on a defensive error, doubling the lead by slotting the ball into the net.

Samrudhi Katkole entered the score sheet in the 55th minute with a clinical finish from the left of the box, converting a brilliant low cross to make it 3-0 for Maharashtra. Maharashtra continued their goal spree in the 60th minute when Aishwarya Bonde’s through ball found Samrudhi in the middle of the box, as she calmly slotted it past the keeper, securing her second goal of the game.

In the 68th minute, Samrudhi completed her hat-trick in style, executing a composed chip over the oncoming goalkeeper after a swift counter-attacking move.

The final goal of the match came in the 79th minute when Pranita Nimkar, assisted by Nishka’s precise cross, slotted home, sealing a comprehensive 6-0 victory for Maharashtra.

With this dominant win, Maharashtra maintains an unblemished record, having yet to concede a goal. The team’s focus now shifts to the crucial clash against Railways on November 29th, promising an exciting encounter between two undefeated and formidable teams.
