Mumbai, June 28: Mumbai outfit Aadhar Pratisthan SC started on a winning note defeating FC Pune City by a close 1-0 margin in the opeing Group-B league matches of the WIFA Women’s Football Championship, which is being conducted as part of the FIFA-AIFF State Development Project, at the Cooperage ground, on Wednesday.
After the two teams failed to find the net in the first 30-minute session, Aadhar Pratisthan managed to strike the crucial goal through Jyotika Singh in the 55th minute and then played out for a win.
In another match, KSA Women’s FC, Kolhapur scored once in each half to blank Tripude SC, Nagpur 2-0. Mrunal Khot netted the first goal in the second minute of additional period of the first half, while Aishwarya Havaldar struck the second in the 57th minute to seal the Kolhapur side’s victory.
