WIFA U13 Youth League sees Mumbai City FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs dominate Group Stage to qualify for the final round
The WIFA U13 Youth League has seen some impressive performances from young footballers across Maharashtra. With 20 teams participating in two groups, the top three teams from each group qualified for the next round. Mumbai City FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs emerged as the dominant teams in their respective groups, with Mumbai City FC topping Group A and Reliance Foundation Young Champs topping Group B.
Mumbai City FC had an impressive run in Group A, winning nine games and drawing one out of ten games. The team scored a whopping 45 goals and conceded only one. Jess Bhobe and Ayaan Maniar were the stars of the team, scoring 11 and 10 goals respectively. Dsouza FA and Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) also qualified from the group, with ROZER PHURAILATPAM and ADAVET SALUNKHE scoring seven and five goals respectively for Dsouza FA and Malsom Tuboi and Nihaar Surve scoring 14 and 10 goals respectively for MSSA.
In Group B, Reliance Foundation Young Champs finished at the top of the league table with 25 points from 10 games, followed by Rising Pune FC with 24 points and Thane Sri MA FC with 20 points. Om Shinde of Rising Pune FC and Subhrajit Pramanick of Reliance Foundation Young Champs were joint top scorers in the group with nine goals each, while Neville Pereira of Reliance Foundation Young Champs scored eight goals. Ishan Ghosh was a standout performer for Thane Sri MA FC, picking up four Player of the Match awards.
Deepak Kanaujiya of Mumbai Soccer Prodigies was one of the top performers of the group stage round. Although his team finished fifth in the league table, missing out on a top-three spot by just two points, Kanaujiya was the driving force for his team, picking up six Player of the Game awards, the most in the league.
The final round of the WIFA U13 Youth League will begin on May 3, with the top three teams from each group battling it out in a round-robin format. The team that finishes at the top of the league table will be declared the winner. With some impressive performances in the group stage, it will be exciting to see which team emerges as the champion of the WIFA U13 Youth League.
