Mumbai, Kolhapur, Palghar & Satara advance to the quarterfinals of WIFA Interdistrict U-17 Girls Tournament

On Day-4 of the ongoing WIFA Interdistrict U-17 Girls Tournament, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Palghar & Satara confirm their places in the quarter-finals

Mumbai ride on Gaia Ferro’s brace to beat Yavatmal 3-0

In the first match of the day, Mumbai faced Yavatmal and came out on top to seal their place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing WIFA Interdistrict U-17 Girls Tournament. For Mumbai, Gaia Ferro opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Asmi doubled the lead in the 21st minute. At halftime, Mumbai had a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Gaia completed her brace in the 45th minute and ensured the victory for Mumbai.

Kolhapur enter the quarters with a huge victory over Jalgaon

Jalgaon had a horrendous start to the match as they scored an own goal and gave the advantage to Kolhapur in the 13th minute. Aarti scored and gave Kolhapur a 2-0 lead in the 20th minute.

Kolhapur entered the pitch with more aggressive intent in the second half and Nidha tripled her team’s lead in the 28th minute. Sharvari scored the next goal in the 31st minute. Soumya scored 2 back-to-back goals in 37th & 38th minute respectively and made it 6-0. Sharvari scored her 2nd goal of the game in the 45th minute. Rajnandini sealed the deal in the 51st minute as the game ended 8-0 in favor of Kolhapur.

Saniya K and Shruti’s hattricks help Palghar cruise past Gondia 11-0 to confirm their place in the quarterfinals

Palghar went on in attack from the first whistle and Aastha scored the first goal for her side in the first minute of the game. Aastha scored her second goal in the 13th minute. Shruti tripled her side’s lead in the 15th minute. Soniya K found the back of the net twice in the 19th & 20th minutes respectively and increased her side’s lead to 5-0. At the end of the first half, Palghar had a huge 5-0 lead over the opponents.

Plaghar continued their dominance in the second half as well. Saniya S scored her side’s 6th goal in the 24th minute. Shruti scored her second goal in the 37th minute. Saniya S scored again in the 40th minute. Shruti completed her hat-trick in the 42nd minute. Saniya K also completed her hat-trick in the 43rd minute. She eventually sealed the deal for her side by scoring her fourth goal of the game in the 45th minute.

Satara got a walkover and move to the quarterfinals.
