Aarti Katkar’s hat-trick hands Kolhapur the WIFA Interdistrict U-17 Girls title

Kolhapur made a tremendous start to the game and it took them only 3 minutes to take the lead. The whole team was involved and got the better of Pune as Aarti found the back of the net from a nice build-up from the back to give Kolhapur the lead.

Aarti doubled her team’s lead by scoring another goal in the 33rd minute. A ball from midfield found Aarti in the final third who beat the Pune goalkeeper in a 1v1 situation and scored.

At halftime, Kolhapur had a solid lead of 2-0.

Kolhapur continued the same enthusiasm in the second half as well. In the 61st minute, Aarti scored again and completed her hat-trick. A ball from the right-hand channel came into the box, the Pune keeper misjudged it and failed to clear it as Aarti took advantage of the loose ball and tapped it in.

15 minutes before the end of regulation time, Kolhapur won a free kick. Sharvari stepped up and converted it into a goal from a distance to seal the deal for her side.
