IWL: Bhagyashree Dalvi bags four goals to help Bodyline SC secure a 5-2 win

 

2nd September 2017, Mumbai: On the eighth day of Indian Women’s League (IWL) Preliminary Round, in form Bodyline SC faced Kenkre FC in an important clash at Cooperage Stadium on Saturday morning.

Bodyline SC came into the match in hope to strengthen their position in the standings, whereas, Kenkre FC had just registered their first win of the campaign in the previous game against Rush Soccer.

In what was a seven-goal thriller, Bhagyashree Dalvi netted four goals as Bodyline SC defeated Kenkre FC 5-2 after being down 2-1 to record a fantastic win at Cooperage.

After a goalless first 15 minutes, Bodyline SC took the lead through Reetika Sahani’s close range strike from a corner which put Bodyline in the drivers seat, though only for couple of minutes.

Kenkre FC responded brilliantly in the last 10 minutes of the first-half when Striker Mamta decided to go on a rampage. Zinnia Devi’s curling corner was turned in the back of the net through Mamta’s looping header just before an another sublime strike from Mamta gave Kenkre FC a massive 2-1 lead.

In a matter of minutes, Bodyline’s lead had cut down short. But Striker Bhagyashree Dalvi had another plans. Just before the half-time, a beautiful finish from inside the box leveled the score at 2-2. The second-half was all about Bodyline’s Bhagyashree. It took the star forward just ten minutes to complete her hat-trick after she scored two back to back goals to give Bodyline SC a 4-2 lead.

Kenkre FC couldn’t manage to soak the pressure from Bodyline’s attack as they lost ball possession a number of times in key areas. The fifth and final goal came right at the end when Bhagyashree scored her fourth of the match to snatch away all three points from Kenkre FC.
