Sunil Chhetri started with a big bang in his first match for Sporting Clube de Portugal in a pre-season friendly match against 1º de Maio Futebol Clube Sarilhense. Sunil hit the target in a convincing 5-0 win for his Sporting ‘B’ team.
The 27-year-old striker arrived in Portugal on Wednesday evening and took part in two training sessions of the Sporting Clube de Portugal ‘B’ team over the last two days. The Indian star was given an opportunity to show his skills under competitive conditions by Sporting ‘B’ coach Oceano Andrade da Cruz. And Sunil showed what he is capable of, when he scored for his Sporting ‘B’ team against Sarilhense and left a first mark on Portuguese soil.Sunil had the opportunity to play 45 minutes in the encounter.
Sporting won the match 5-0 against Sarilhense in an easy pre-season friendly played at the Academia.
