Two first half strikes by Abeer Arsiwala and Velenie Fernandes was instrumental in Sea View Sports Club record a convincing 2-0 win against Companeroes Sports Club in a women’s match of the 9th Bandra West Football League 2012 played at the Dr. Norman Lewis Supari Talao Municipal Grounds, Bandra.
First Abeer collected a pass from Laura Estibeiro and then weaved her way past two defenders before firing a crisp shot to the top of the net. A few minutes later Jennifer Rayar’s measured free-kick from the top of the box was headed home by Velanie Fernandes past an onrushing Companeroes goalkeeper. The second half was a tame affair as Companeroes were more content in marking and breaking the moves of the Sea View players to finish the second half goalless.
In another match, Anjali Malhhotra and Levanha Divekar netted a goal each to guide Bodyline FC to a 2-0 win over Bandra Packers and record their second win in Pool-A to book their berth in the semifinal playoff stage.
