India end AFC U-14 campaign on a high

India’s U-14 boys ended their campaign in the AFC U-14 Fest on a high in Kathmandu winning both their matches on the concluding day. In the first match, India routed Bhutan 6-0. Krishna Pandit scored five goals while Loyamgamba completed the rout.

In the other match, India sailed past Sri Lanka 2-0 as Krishna and Kiran scored one apiece.

Head Coach Sajid Yousuf sounded satisfied with the overall performance. “We played ten matches and won six of them. We drew two and lost two matches and are second on the table behind hosts Nepal. This is a new bunch of boys and they have the right attitude both on and off the field,” he said. “The boys acclimatised fast and that speaks volumes about their approach,” he added.

Sajid specially thanked Mr. Scott O’Donell, Technical Director, Regional and Elite Academies for his support. “I need to thank Scott for his guidance and support. We are stressing on the grassroots and Scott’s experience will help us going forward,” he commented.
