The first quarter-final of Inter District Football Championship for Maharashtra Sub-Junior Boys 2016 took place at Palghar on Monday. Mumbai romped to victory with a convincing 7-0 win over Aurangabad to set the mark for other teams in the tournament.
The knockout rounds for other teams was more of a one side affair. Nagpur took Gondia to the cleaners by thrashing them 9-0 in a rout which makes them favorites to get past the Quarter-Finals stage.
Akola continued with their sublime form in the tournament by beating Amravati 4-1 and claim their place in the Quarters.
Latur and Osmanabad had to be decided on penalties with Latur keeping calm and their keeper being the hero of the match with 2 fine saves and sending them into the quarter finals.
